7 Reasons Stay at Home Moms Should Start a Blog

Starting a blog is one thing I will recommend to almost anyone looking to do the unimaginable.

The problem is that most don’t understand what that even means.

When you think of a blog, you think of someone’s life story.

Their opinion on something.

Or how you feel about this or that topic.

Yes and no.

Maybe back in 1999, but not anymore.

Gone are the days of using blogs for venting, and now are the days of using a blog for your career.

You might have heard some success stories or even seen someone on the net who makes thousands of dollars blogging, but you probably never actually met one.

It’s not because they are hiding or they are only 1 in a million but because it is not something that is thrown out there like it’s nothing.

There is a very specific group of people that take on such a “job,” and it is something that you kind of need to know about.

Anyone can teach you how to start a blog, but without the proper education on such a topic, you will not get very far.

Now, with programs like Wealthy Affiliate or Project 24, the idea of blogging has changed.

But with something like a blog, money is not the only benefit.

There are many other reasons I think anyone should start a blog, but this post is specifically for you stay-at-home moms and even dads.

Obviously, I am not a mom, but I do know that most households consist of moms doing the stay-at-home part.

I mean, who will be the one to take care of a baby?

Not dads, that’s for sure.

So, if you are looking to make use of your time, this is for you.

Why Stay-at-Home Moms Should Start a Blog

Anyone can start a blog, and I definitely recommend it.

However, some of us might not have the luxury of doing such a thing.

Although I know that you can make money online while you are at that 9-5 of yours, sometimes blogging is not the easiest to get around to.

Now if you are a stay-at-home mom, you really can not ask for a better candidate.

And today I want to tell you exactly why they are.

1. Blogging is a Real Business

When you think of blogging, you think of writing.

No normal person would ever think of it as a business until you really get educated on such a topic.

The topic of blogging is simple, but once you get into everything that makes up a simple blog, you will know that this is some serious stuff.

For one, you need a website.

This is not to say that it is complicated, but it’s just something that you actually need.

Without one, well, you won’t have a blog.

Then comes the part where you need to learn some things.

How to get started, how to get it out there, and most especially, how to make money.

In the end, you are building a real, legitimate business.

So if you didn’t know, now you do.

2. The Income Potential is Through the Roof

Along with the fact that blogging is, in fact, a real business comes the potential of the amount of money you can make.

However, you do need to know that this is just like a regular old business in the sense that your income can and will vary.

Some days will be slower than others, and some days will be better.

There’s no telling what can happen, but there is one thing that is certain.

There are billions of people online every single day.

You will not find a bigger market than what you have right here on this thing called the World Wide Web.

With the many ways to monetize a blog, income is not going to be a problem.

Running ads alone is making people thousands of dollars every single day, but with something like affiliate marketing, your income can really climb.

There are not many opportunities out there that can make you the type of money that a blog can, so do keep that in mind.

3. It is Super Easy

Income is great and all, but it is even better when you are doing something that isn’t complicated.

I was never a writer, and I actually did go an extra year in high school, but that did not stop me.

For the past 5 years, I have been working from home full-time as a blogger.

So if this not-so-bright old man can do it, there is no reason that you can’t either.

There might be different moving parts to a simple blog, but once you get started, it’s really all a matter of you publishing content.

It is not complicated, and it is a lot easier than you think.

4. You Help Others

I love helping people regardless of what the situation may be.

Now if there is one thing that I do love doing the most, it is helping people through my blogs.

Just like I’m helping you start your very own blog, that is exactly how you will conduct business with yours.

I run a site called Mancarry.com, and I help guys find the best gear.

So if you can help someone, you can definitely make money online.

You don’t have to sell anything, and you don’t have to lie to anyone just so you can make money.

Be honest and genuinely help people, and you will make money.

If you can’t help or don’t want to help, then I’m sorry to say that blogging is not going to work for you.

5. Blogging is Fun

I know I was never a writer, and I never planned on being one.

Heck, I don’t even consider myself a writer, even if I have been blogging for almost a decade.

What I do know is that I like helping others and I like talking about the different topics on my blogs.

But instead of talking to just one person, my blog allows me to talk to thousands of people all at once.

I enjoy talking about man gear and I enjoy talking about making money online.

There is no other job that allows me to do such a thing, and that is why I absolutely love what I do.

I take about 2 hours to speak my mind and help people, and I get paid for doing so.

If that is not fun, then I really don’t know what to tell you.

I do know that you have time to spare once the baby goes to bed, and you will find blogging to be just as fun as I do.

6. Extremely Low Startup Cost

When someone thinks about starting a blog, they think of money.

Not making it but putting it in just to get started.

Some of you might think that it is going to cost hundreds of dollars, but it’s really not.

You can start a blog for as little as $70 a year.

That includes your website, the domain, and the hosting that is needed to start one.

Once that is done, all you need to do is blog.

Now, adding the education, help, and maybe some support is not usually there, but if you go with something like Wealthy Affiliate, you can get it all for $49/month.

Even at that, you will NOT find a business for that cheap, so think about things before you think that it is not worth the investment.

And if making $10,000 a month is not worth it, you might just be crazy or something.

7. It Will Change Your Life

I will admit that my other half did not agree with my decision to start a blog and do it full-time.

She was not in any way shape or forme into anything entrepreneurial.

As a matter of fact, she was completely against it and was not happy about my decision.

She wasn’t aware of the time needed to start making money, and it frustrated the crap out of her.

“You will not make a single penny online” became one of her favorite lines, and it only pushed me to make it work.

Fast forward to today, and she is forever grateful for what a simple website and blog could do.

We all know that this is not for everyone, but I do think you should at least give it a try.

And if you want some personal help from me, I am currently a member of Wealthy Affiliate, so you can reach out to me there if you want.

Create your free WA account, and you will see the true potential of what a simple blog can do.

Conclusion – Start a Blog

I don’t care what you think or feel.

Blogging is for everyone.

Don’t think about things and just do it.

Whether you plan on doing it now or somewhere down the road, you definitely want to at least get started today.

Having everything in place will help you in the long run, so please don’t procrastinate.

Besides that, I hope this post has helped you stay-at-home moms understand the true potential of what something so simple as blogging can do.

Until next time, get out there, start that blog, and never look back.

Cheers!
