Who does not like to watch, let alone get paid to review movies?
Well, I actually never did when I was a single young adult.
Weird, I know, but that’s just how it was.
The little boy in me never left, and the undiagnosed ADHD had complete control of me.
Coming from a military background with some serious anxiety, sleeping was not something I got a lot of either.
Now, if I went to a movie theater, it was absolutely weird, but I would fall asleep in the middle of a movie.
I know it’s weird, but it happened.
That was before I had kids.
Nowadays, you can bet that I love a good movie with some popcorn all cuddled up and stuff.
Trips to the movie theater are also fun, as you won’t find me snoring.
To make things even better, I make my living on the internet.
Combine everything, and you have the recipe for some awesomeness.
With that being said, I want to show you how you can make money by doing simple reviews.
Now, there isn’t one way that all this is done, so I will be giving you some options so you can go with what works best for YOU
1. Blogging
This is by far the absolute best way to make money reviewing movies, and for several reasons.
- It pays the best
- Super low startup and maintenance
- Really simple
- Beats any regular 9-5
I run several blogs on various topics, but I always incorporate some awesome reviews to help with the income.
Not only are you writing reviews on movies because it’s fun, but you can get paid for it in the process.
Now, you’re probably wondering how this is possible, and that is what I want to explain.
The first and most traditional way for you to make any kind of money with movie reviews is through some good old advertising.
You’ve been on websites with ads all over it and you can bet that the owner is making some money with them.
You can get paid when someone clicks on an ad or even if they view it with partners like Monumetric and other ad providers.
The next way to make money is through the affiliate marketing business model.
Feature products on your site (in this case, movies) and provide your personal affiliate link to these products.
If one of your website visitors clicks on them and makes a purchase, you get a commission.
Pretty sweet, right?
Then you can monetize it through sponsorships and whatnot, but all that can be learned later in the blogging process.
Well, that’s what is possible with something like a blog and why I personally think it is your best bet at making lots of money.
I did an entire page on how to start a blog, so you can check that out to see the real potential that such a simple blog has.
2. Freelance Movie Critic
If you are looking for more of a “pay me now” kind of gig, this is the next best thing.
At least when it comes to bringing in more dough.
Bloggers who offer the same type of information understand the idea of making money through blog posts, but they don’t have the time to do it.
That’s when they turn to sites like Freelancer and UpWork to find freelancers to do the job.
Review movies for them and they will pay you anywhere from $10-$100 for doing a simple review.
You can always improve your writing game and get educated by Contena if you are looking to make the big bucks as a writer.
Freelance movie critics are their own boss, just like bloggers, so consider this if you are looking for something more sustainable.
3. Review Sites
This is probably what most of you have been looking for, even if I put it a little further down the post.
I only did that because the two options mentioned before are the ones that have the potential for you to make a living.
These other 3 will make you money but not something you can fire your boss with.
The best part about them is that they are all free to join, and they are all legit.
Screen Rant
This is my favorite free-to-join site.
Screen Rant pays you for doing simple reviews on movies as well as video games and TV shows.
So whatever type of screen type things you are doing, there is money to be made.
They do require you to submit several posts a month and insist you provide in-depth, quality reviews.
The pay varies, but you can learn more about that after you fill out the application.
Taste of Cinema
These guys are always looking for someone to write reviews for the millions of viewers they entertain monthly.
They do pay cash, but you can also get your personal social media handles exposed to their following, which will allow for more followers on your part.
The application process consists of several questions, but it is also free to join as well.
Apply here and become a part of Taste of Cinema.
Cineaste
Cineaste is one of the better-paying sites out there.
They start as low as $18 and go as high as $90.
They operate as a freelancing website catered to providing its readers with book reviews, DVD/Blueray reviews, and, of course movie reviews.
Get more information here to see how you can get started as soon as today.
4. Revenue Sharing
This is the most unique way to make money with movie reviews and one that I’m sure you will enjoy.
With sites like Hub Pages, you can join thousands of other writers who are sharing the revenue that the overall site brings in.
As a member of Hub Pages, you own a piece of property on the overall site.
Think of it as a mall, and you are one of the vendors.
Instead of a store, you own kind of like a small website.
By running your space, you create content in that little area of yours.
With the ads provided, you will then get a piece of the pie.
5. Give Your Opinion
This is the simplest way to make money with movie reviews and one that most of you impatient people will appreciate.
Forget about writing long reviews and forget about having to deal with anyone when it comes to getting paid.
GPT (Get Paid To) sites have been around for a really long time, but not many people even know about them.
By giving simple opinions on various topics along with other simple tasks, you can make some cash.
There are several that I frequent, and you can check them out below.
Swagbucks
This is the very first GPT site that I have ever encountered.
Being that it was free, I was beyond skeptical about it.
People were showing me the money they were making, and I didn’t believe them.
So, of course, I signed up, and voila!
I made money.
Swagbucks is free to join, so get signed up and start making some money.
Opinion Outpost
This is a newer survey-type site that I really like.
They pay a lot higher than most sites of its kind, and they also have a very nice affiliate program.
Just like Swagbucks, it is free to join and will pay you in cash.
Survey Junkie
Just like the two I just mentioned, Survey Junkie works the same exact way.
Answer simple questions and get paid.
It is completely free to join, and they also pay in cash.
Conclusion – Get Paid to Review Movies
Making money on the internet is truly an amazing thing.
Doing it talking about movies is even better.
I do hope this post has given you some ideas, as I know how hard it is to find legit opportunities that pay.
Everything mentioned above works and has been around for years.
Whatever you decide to go with, I’m sure will be a wise decision.
