As a full-time online marketer/blogger for the last 5 + years, I know how much of a task it is even to find a legit program that will show you how to make money on the internet.
What works for one will not always work for another, and well, that’s just how it is.
After all these years, I’ve always had one or maybe two programs that I recommend to others, and I just realized how “not cool” it really was.
That type of stuff leads to more questions and a lot more typing on my part.
It then leads to something that doesn’t fit that specific individual, with them ultimately quitting or looking for something better and different.
That all then leads to one unhappy camper who quits and goes back to chit-chatting with their coworkers in the lunch room.
That’s not the result we want, and that is exactly why I have created this post.
I want you to ask yourself these questions and answer them to the best of your ability.
You can use the comments section below, or you can utilize our contact form for a more personal assessment.
This will help determine what will work best for YOU so that you don’t feel obligated to do just one thing.
I will also be leaving some options for you after this quiz, so I’m sure you will find one that suits YOU.
We all know that time is money, so let’s get right into things.
1. What Are You Looking to Do?
Making money online is not an answer either.
Are you looking to start a blog?
Maybe you are really looking to do nothing?
With what is available online, you can make money doing many things, so be as vague as you want here, as these other questions will help.
Don’t worry. I had no clue as to what the internet offered, so back then, I wouldn’t know what to put either.
2. How Much Money Are You Trying to Make?
I get it.
We all want to make millions of dollars.
Usually, the dreamers and non-action takers have that as their goal, and that is completely fine.
Now, there are some of you who understand how hard work and making money go hand in hand, and you’ve accepted that.
The internet provides us with the options to create the type of income we want, but it’s all a matter of how much you really want to make.
If you want to make a couple of bucks here and there, you can do it.
If that million dollars is what you want, it can be done, too.
Be realistic, though, and put something that you know you can work on in order to accomplish it.
3. What Kind of Life Goals Are You Looking to Accomplish?
Do you want to retire before you turn 40?
Maybe you want to get rid of your debt and improve your credit score.
There are many things we want to do in life, but we tend to forget about them thanks to this thing called life.
I have 3 words for those of you who have goals but have not accomplished a single one of them.
WRITE.
THEM.
DOWN.
It sounds very kindergarten-ish, but trust me, it makes a huge difference when it comes to accomplishing anything in life.
4. How Much Are You Willing to Invest?
The amount of money you want to make doesn’t always have to be determined by the amount you have to put in, but of course, it helps.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “It takes money to make money,” and that is probably true for anyone who is looking to make real money.
Now, if you want to make some pocket change, you can do so with some survey sites like Swagbucks or Squishy Cash.
You’ll make something, but you will not be able to quit that day job of yours.
Now, don’t go thinking that you need thousands of dollars to make thousands, either.
But be honest here and put a number that you know you are comfortable with.
If it’s $100, then so be it.
If it’s $0, then you have the two options I just mentioned, but the rest of the quiz is probably not necessary.
5. How Much Work Are You Able to Put in?
Everything I’ve got.
That’s a very typical answer that lasts for a good week.
After that, there’s a lot less work and sometimes even none at all.
Just like everything else, you need to be realistic and honest with yourself.
If you’re working 2 jobs and you have 10 kids, I’m sure you won’t be able to put in 10 hours a day.
Think about it and put something you can actually do.
Not something you wish you could do.
6. What Kind of Skills Do You Have?
When it comes to the internet, a lot of you immediately think you need some kind of computer skills.
That was a must in 1999, but thanks to this thing called technology, you need no computer skills whatsoever.
Now, the types of skills you should consider are things like writing, marketing, or even people skills.
If you don’t have anything you can think of, that’s fine too.
7. Are You Looking to do this Part-time or Full-time?
Everything mentioned sums up what you plan to do within the online space.
Some of you might be thinking part-time, while some might want to work online for a living.
There are many that start off part-time and then end up doing whatever it is they enjoy for a living.
This will not dictate much on how much you will make, but it will give you an idea of what you want to accomplish online.
I personally knew that I didn’t want to work for anyone else, so I took the plunge and committed to this whole thing full-time.
What Programs Work
I’ve fallen for many scams, and I have dumped thousands of dollars directly into their pockets as a result.
Hungry to make money online, I listened to anyone and everyone who had the best ideas out there.
Of course, 90% of them were recruiting-based, and that is something I wanted to avoid completely.
I’ve also had my share of multilevel marketing gigs that also required recruiting, but that was also something I wasn’t too interested in.
I was not disappointed in myself as I’ve just used it as a very valuable and expensive lesson.
Now, what all this BS led me to was some real legit ways that I would like to share with you next.
You might not find one that fits you, and that’s okay.
Just know that these are all legit and real ways to make money/a living from the internet.
1. Free Money
Some of you aren’t interested in doing much online, but you still want to make money.
I already mentioned the survey sites earlier in this post, but you can also do other things.
I use cash-back apps that pay you when you shop but also when you share the program with others.
They pay anywhere from $5 – $25 per referral, depending on the program.
You don’t need to spend any money and you can very much make it utilizing any of the programs below.
2. Blogging
How could you make money with something like a blog?
Most people think that blogging consists of talking about your life and what you ate for lunch, but that’s what social media is for.
Maybe back in the day, but not anymore.
Blogs are used to do two things.
Provide information to the world and make money for those providing that information.
Just like you are seeing right here on Brokeveteran.com
Not only are they making money, but they are making complete livings from something as simple as a blog.
If you have a passion or hobby for absolutely anything you can think of, you can make money with it.
I did a complete guide on starting a blog, so you can check that out to see how you can get started.
3. Affiliate Marketing
This goes hand in hand with a blog but you can do this without a website as well.
This is also the first legit money making method I have ever learned.
The idea is very simple but amazing at the same time.
With affiliate marketing, you will sell other people’s products and make a commission in the process.
Sounds like a regular old business, right?
Well, not really.
Within the online space, you don’t need to buy any products, nor do you have to ship anything out.
You simply become an affiliate with Amazon, Walmart, or whatever company it is that fits your niche.
You then get your affiliate link and throw it on your blog, spread it on social media (if allowed), or even place ads.
If someone clicks and makes a purchase, you get paid.
I did a complete post on the top affiliate marketing training programs, but you can check some out below as well.
4. E-Commerce
Starting an online store is always an option but requires a lot more knowledge and capital in order to get started.
You are also required to provide the products, entertain customers, and deal with shipping, unlike the affiliate marketing business model.
This is the most traditional method of making money online but probably the most complicated.
The income potential is definitely up there, so I would consider this if you do have something you can sell online.
Shopify is always the best option, so check them out if running your very own online store is something you are looking to do.
Now if you don’t, the next option is one you might really like.
5. Drop Shipping
I absolutely love this business model.
However, this requires a lot of learning, testing, and a higher startup cost.
Not as high as running your own store but more than you would invest with affiliate marketing.
The beauty of this method is that you don’t need to purchase or own a single product.
You will need a website, and you will need to deal with customers as well.
You get to choose your products, and you also get to dictate the amount of money you can make.
There is a whole lot more to know about drop shipping, so I will be doing a whole post on it soon.
For now, you can check out Oberlo and utilize their free training on drop shipping.
One of the best platforms out there, so take what you can from them.
Conclusion – Make Something Happen
Making money online is great for many reasons, but not many can understand them.
I’ve mentioned nothing but the best ways to do such a thing so go with what works best for you.
Some of you might still be confused, so do take the little quiz and submit it to our contact page if you would like my personal help.
Besides that, I hope this has helped you at least understand the way things are done on the internet.
There are other methods out there, but they are usually recruiting-based and most likely a Ponzi scheme.
If you aren’t sure about a program you have come across, you can leave a link to them in the comments section below.
I will give you the ins and outs and probably even do a review on them so you know what you are getting involved with.
Thanks for reading!
