Pei Review: Scam or Legit Cashback App?

Wondering what Pei is really about and if you might get scammed?

Well, I’m glad, because I have put together this Pei review so that you can figure out if you should even signup for yet another cash back app.

I have gone through the motions and I got signed up thanks to one of my Facebook friends.

With little information on how everything really works, I set out to find it out for myself.

Within a week’s time, I am able to put together this review so that you can make a smarter decision on your own.

Pei Review – Product Overview

Name: Pei

Website: www.getpei.com

Price: Free

Type of App: Cashback

Overall Rating: 1.9/5 stars

Pei is very similar to Dosh in a way that they offer cash back for shopping at establishments that you are already frequenting almost daily. By offering cash back and a referral program, you can bet that this is one way to make money without having to spend anything. Very comparable to our #1 recommended GPT site but definitely not in the same category as our #1 way to make money online.

What is Pei?

Pei (pronounced “pay”) is a loyalty/rewards type program that allows you to earn cash back by simply shopping at places you are already eating and shopping at.

By simply linking one of your credit or debit cards to the app, you will get rewarded if you just so happen to use that card to make a purchase.

The app is only available within the US and pays using regular old US dollars as well as Bitcoin.

According to their site, there are thousands of participating stores and restaurants but here is a list of Pei Partners that you can at least get an idea from.

  • 7-Eleven
  • Domino’s
  • Denny’s
  • Dunkin’ Donuts
  • Chipotle
  • ColdStone
  • Chick-Fil-A
  • Target
  • Hooter’s
  • In-N-Out
  • American Eagle
  • Trader Joe’s
  • Panera Bread
  • Victoria’s Secret
  • Taco Bell
  • Jersey Mike’s
  • Petco
  • Papa John’s
  • Panda Express
  • AMC Theaters
  • Subway
  • Sam’s Club
  • Super Cuts
  • Little Caesar’s
  • Footlocker
  • Walgreen’s
  • Sephora
  • Shake Shack
  • Nordstrom
  • GameStop
  • Forever 21
  • Zara
  • Uni Qlo
  • + many others

How it Works

how-pei-works

The way Pei works is actually really simple.

By linking your card, the app will automatically give you a percentage back on what you purchase.

You can earn anywhere from 1-20% but it all depends on the establishment you are using.

Every time you earn cashback, it will automatically be added to your Pei account.

From there, you can then cash it out in USD or Bitcoin.

There is a small fee if you get it in cash but it is free if you use Crypto Currency.

As of now, these are the only two payment options but they are planning to add other Crypto Currencies in the future.

Making Money

Getting cash back is great but of course, it isn’t going to be anything to brag about.

You will get cash back for shopping at the many stores that you are already shopping at but there is another way that money can be made.

The Pei referral program.

For every person that you successfully get signed up, you can expect anywhere from $2-$5, depending on what promotional offer is going on.

Now in order to get any kind of money per referral, they NEED to use your “special” code.

On top of that, they will have to link their card as well.

They don’t link a card or use your code, you don’t get paid.

So if you feel like supporting me for providing such an awesome Pei review, get signed up here and use the code “oxcqbl”.

I wish it were as easy as clicking a link like you would with affiliate marketing, but this one is just a little bit more complicated.

Other Benefits of Pei

Rewards are very common, but sometimes you are limited.

A lot of you most likely have a credit card that offers rewards, and usually, you will only be able to use one or the other.

With Pei, you get to use both.

The best part about it is that if your card linked to your Pei account is the same one that gets rewards, then you don’t have to do anything extra.

You just pay, and your card provider rewards you, while Pei does their thing.

Another pro is the fact that there are many stores that are included on their list, and you don’t even have to think about anything just to get rewarded.

And for you Crypto junkies, you can get paid with Bitcoin, if that’s even a pro.

What I Didn’t Care For

For me, I know that it is safe to link your card to the app but others, not so much.

You can’t blame anyone, either, but that’s just how it is.

Another thing I wasn’t too fond of was their referral program.

I’m used to other apps like Dosh that offer $10 – $15 per referral, while Pei only gives you $2 most of the time.

Sure, it’s free to join Pei, but I personally think you are better off joining Dosh if you are into making money recruiting others.

Getting Started

signup-to-pei

Everything starts with a simple signup form and then a download of the Pei app.

You are required to provide simple details like your name, an email address, and a telephone number to verify that it’s you.

You will then have to confirm your email address, and then you’re good to go.

Maybe turn on some notifications and whatnot, but the only thing left for you to do is link your card.

Once that is complete, you just go about life like you normally would until it comes time to cash out, which needs to be done manually.

Will Pei Pay?

Pei will actually pay.

I just wanted to sound like some kind of poet, but I’m done there.

Other apps like Societi.tv that pay you for playing games give its members the run around when it comes time to pay.

I guess since Pei doesn’t offer that much money, they are able to pay its members on time as well.

Final Verdict: Legit

The Pei app is legit and will not scam you.

It might not be the best-paying type of program, but at the very least, they are legitimate.

There are many apps that claim to make you money but then give you all kinds of excuses as to why they can’t pay you.

“you didn’t meet the minimum threshold”

“you broke one of their rules”

“The email address you provided isn’t working”

Blah blah fricken blah.

With Pei, you won’t get any of that unless you are trying to game the system or something.

Now if some of you have had a different experience, please do share them in the comments section below.

Is There an Alternative?

I mentioned the Dosh app earlier in this review, but you can also use Swagbucks, which is another free app.

Now, if you are looking for a better way to make money online, that, my friend, is going to require an investment.

If you have some time and just a little bit of money, you can make a much better income than just “cashback.”

That is more for entrepreneurs rather than penny pinchers, so only go with that option if you are looking to do something more.

Besides that, I hope this Pei review has done its job.

If you have any questions about this or any other make-money opportunity, feel free to leave them in the comments section below.

Cheers!

Summary

Pei is an app that gives you cash back for shopping. Their partners are very limited, so don’t expect to make much. However, they do have a referral program that allows you to make a nice chunk of change for referring others.

  1. Pei has not reply to any of my emails for the past four months. The app keeps on crashing and I’m trying to pull out my money that I put in for Bitcoin. How can I get my money out?who can I get a hold of about this issue? Will this turn into a lawsuit?
