We all know that millions of dollars are being made through a simple blog.
But do you know exactly how people are succeeding with something like blogging?
Probably not.
Not many people do, and not many even understand the simple process that is needed to start a blog.
You would think that something so simple can be easily understood and implemented, but that’s not the case.
Why?
Well, probably because of the many components that come with such a business.
Building a website, creating content, and, most especially, understanding how to make money.
And that’s not including the many other things that come with something like search engine optimization or building a list with email marketing.
There are many things you need to understand when it comes to blogging.
Without them, you will not succeed.
So, before you even think about starting your very own blog, you might want to understand the basics of what comes with such a career.
Let’s go over a very basic but awesome list of what you need in order to succeed with something like blogging.
Don’t forget to read why you will fail at blogging, as I’m sure you can benefit from that too.
1. Change Your Mentality
This is the first step to blogging and any business, for that matter.
If you aren’t going to think like an entrepreneur, then you simply will not make it.
If you are going to let normal people influence the way you think, you won’t get very far.
Mentality can be the simplest thing when it comes to a business, but it can mean everything.
It is what determines if you will fail, and it is what determines if you succeed.
I can promise you that 99.9% of the people you are around have no clue as to how to get financially free.
They simply can’t, as they are working a regular old 9-5 that will not provide the time and freedom that defines what entrepreneurs have.
Not to say that the work is easy but the benefits sure do outweigh the cons.
2. Understanding That Blogging is a Business
Blogging sounds like some honky dory kind of job.
Let me talk about life and how much I love it.
Or, let me tell everyone how gross that restaurant was.
That is somewhat how things are done, but it is a lot more serious than most people think.
Blogging requires everything that a normal business has.
You need the work ethic, the right mindset, and the right market.
Take it any other way, and you will fail before you even start.
3. Breaking Out of Your Comfort Zone is a Must
We all get comfortable in life, and that’s just how it is.
What seemed like a job for the time being has now turned into 10 years’ worth of wasted time.
It happens all over the place, and it is usually why most people will never do anything bigger or better.
Once you get comfortable, it is almost impossible to break out of it.
Unless you get with the right people and read the right stuff.
I have done a whole post on this topic alone, so you can check that out here to see exactly what I’m talking about.
Now, when it comes to blogging, it isn’t any different.
It isn’t going to be anything you are used to, and it might even suck at first.
But as long as you break out of your comfort zone, you can succeed at blogging without any problems.
4. Blogging Takes Time
“They see the glory, but they don’t know the story”.
I absolutely love that saying, as it is exactly how things go within the business space.
Everyone sees the success you have accomplished, but they don’t know what it took to get you there.
They don’t know that you spent hours upon hours in a single day just to get things off the ground.
As a blogger, they don’t know that people like us sit behind a computer day and night before we even see a single profit.
Money will not be made overnight, and it will not be made even a couple of months into the business.
Depending on what route you decide to take.
What you do need to know is that blogging will take a lot of your time, and it will take just as much time before you hit any kind of success.
Now, what you do need to know is that it WILL pay off.
All those hours put into your business will reflect later, and it will amaze the crap out of you.
5. You Need the Right Training
Blogging is simple, and I’m sure we can all see that.
Blogging for a living…not so much.
There comes the knowledge that will get you the type of traffic that will make you money.
The kind of knowledge that will put you ahead of your so-called competition.
Traffic is what will make you money, and without the right knowledge, you will not get very far.
So many people have created free training all over the internet, but with all that info comes this thing called confusion.
Then you also have to worry about someone trying to sell you something and all that nonsense that comes with crazy online marketers.
Get with the right training, and you won’t have to worry about being all over the place.
6. You Need the Right Network
Everything mentioned in this post requires the right environment and, most especially, the right people.
They will influence your mentality and play a key role in whether you succeed with blogging or not.
For me, I hung around with about 5 people.
That was my other half and my four kids.
Everyone I knew was either a leach or didn’t have the right mentality to get me to where I wanted to be in life.
So what did I do?
I did the unimaginable, and I cut them off.
Mind you, I was a party animal and pretty much the life of the party.
All that changed when I decided to grow up and start a real career that would allow me to do whatever I wanted.
These days, I hang out with fellow online entrepreneurs, and an annual trip to Las Vegas is enough for me to handle.
The rest of my time is focused on growing my business and spending time with my family.
Conclusion – Start a Blog!
I can give you a million and one benefits that come with a simple blog, but let’s save that for another day.
There are just a few reasons that really matter, and they are…
- You are the boss
- Income potential is through the roof
- It beats any J-O-B
If that isn’t enough for you to start your own blog, then there are two reasons why that is.
One, you are a part of the 99% that will always work for someone, or two, you are just lazy.
There are many other excuses, but those two sum it all up.
And if you think that writing is not for you, just remember that this once-broke veteran went an extra year in high school.
So, if this idiot can do it, there is no reason as to why you can’t, too.
I have laid out the basics of what you need to succeed with blogging, so use it and start a money-making blog today.
Until next time, remember to always strive for better and never let anyone tell you that it can’t be done.
