Best Schema Plugins For WordPress [Rich Snippets]

If you are looking for the best schema plugins for WordPress and are trying to get them pretty stars in Google, then you have come to the right place.

As a review site of some sort, we all want to see those stars that show up on the search engine results page (SERPS).

Not only do they look great, but they will definitely improve your click-through rate as well.

That then helps with ranking, and you ultimately ranking higher in Google.

This is all done through the schema markup on the backend of your website.

And if you are non-coder like me, you will need a plugin to accomplish such a goal.

We all know that not all plugins are created equal.

I dislike them just as much as you do but sometimes it’s just what we have to do.

Right?

It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely isn’t a great thing.

This is one of many situations that less is more, and I’m sure you can agree.

But what if we want to get stars in the SERPS?

I’m sorry to say, but your best bet is going to be with yet another WordPress plugin.

It sucks, I know, but it’s definitely worth it.

So, what are the best schema plugins for WordPress that will not only allow such great things but also be website-friendly and not complicated?

Thankfully, I have gone through the crazy trial and error process.

With that, I am now able to create a list of the best schema plugins that I’m sure you will appreciate.

Without such experience, it wouldn’t be possible, but I have gone through it for both of us.

Although I’m not fond of being the guinea pig, someone has to do it.

So you’re welcome.

How Did I Find the Best Schema Plugins?

best-schema-plugins-for-wordpress

I literally tested all the ones that were recommended and used by other website owners out there.

Within the many websites I own, I’ve installed and tested at least 7.

This was quite the process and required a few months of getting statistics and constant inspections for any mishaps.

For one, these plugins have to do one thing.

They have to be able to show the stars in the SERPS.

If they don’t do that, then what good are they?

So that’s a must and that’s what all these plugins are capable of doing.

Two, each of these plugins has to be compatible with WordPress and have a very active crew behind the scenes.

Google updates are critical with ranking and it’s not wise to use a plugin that can’t at least keep up.

With those few things in mind, I have come up with the 5 best schema plugins for WordPress.

This will allow you to have stars in the SERPS, which I’m sure you want.

Without further ado, here is our #1 choice.

1. WP Review Pro

wp-review-pro

Thanks to the fine folks at My Theme Shop, we have WP Review Pro.

They are also the creators of the original free plugin WP Review but that one isn’t compatible with what Google wants these days.

That was probably the best free plugin, but with the update, it’s pretty much useless as they won’t get you any stars.

Now with WP Review Pro, you get to choose the options that Google allows for rich snippets.

That is why this is our top choice.

I personally think this is the best schema plugin for WordPress and for many reasons at that.

This is the most flexible plugin on this list, and it does what it’s supposed to do.

It shows the stars.

But that’s a given, and there are other features that I’m sure you’ll like.

WP Review Pro is one of the few plugins on this list that allows you to showcase your star ratings on your actual site without it looking so generic.

You get to pick and choose what shows, and you can also hide everything completely.

You also get custom templates, comparison tables, and many more options that other plugins don’t provide.

This is also the only plugin on this list that allows you to get 0 errors and 0 warnings in Google’s Search Console so you can’t beat that.

That’s, of course, if you’re using the “product” schema type.

Every other schema plugin can get rid of the errors, but you will always have at least 2 warnings.

This is the most versatile schema plugin, and that is why we recommend this over any other schema plugin.

2. Schema Pro

Coming in at our #2 spot is Schema Pro.

If you are simply in it for the stars, this is the plugin for you.

Schema Pro does not allow you to show any schema markup on your site, but it does allow you to get some rich snippets.

Everything happens in the backend, and it’s also very easy to setup.

As of the time of this post, Schema Pro allows you to get rid of all errors, but I could only bring the warnings down to 2.

However, with everything going on behind the scenes, your site still functions as if there isn’t anything being loaded.

You do have to choose a specific category to utilize the schema but that’s not a problem if you have one for all the products you review.

This is a great schema plugin and is also recommended by a lot of the bigger blogs out there.

3. WP Product Review Lite

wp-product-review-lite

This was one of the first star rating plugins I ever used as a blogger.

It does exactly what you want it to do and it doesn’t put any stress on your site.

It’s completely free to use, and it even allows you to choose where you want the schema to show on your site.

This is also a downside as you must have the data showing on your site or you will not get any rich snippets.

Now I do think that the simplicity is great, and it does not look too bad either if you see the screenshot above.

It works great with mobile and will get you some nice little stars in the SERPS.

Another thing to take note of, though, is the fact that they only use a 1/10 scale rather than a 1/5 scale that most of you are used to.

If that’s fine with you, then WP Product Review Lite is not a bad choice.

4. Rank Math

Although a little further down on this list, I would probably recommend this over any other plugin but I can’t.

The beauty of this schema plugin is that it’s not even a schema plugin.

It’s actually an SEO plugin that gives you the option to use structured data, which is absolutely amazing.

Let’s just say that this is Yoast’s competition, but with a little extra.

Yoas is trying to follow suit, though, and they are trying to incorporate schema into their plugin, too.

However, it is all still in the works, and their structured data is just not where it needs to be, and that only means that you will not be getting any stars with Yoast.

Now, with Rank Math, you will.

Their plugin configuration is absolutely very simple, and you also get to use it for what it was created for in the first place.

SEO.

Now don’t think that the schema part of the plugin sucks either, as it is actually really awesome and is actually a lot easier to use than the rest.

What’s even better is that you will only have 2 warnings within Search Console if you were to use the product schema.

5. Ultimate Blocks

This is the latest addition to my best schema plugins for WordPress, but it is definitely not the last because it sucks.

Ultimate Blocks is great for several reasons, one of them being that it was built for Gutenberg.

This plugin was designed for the block editor, and it does a great job.

Of course it provides the structured data to give you rich snippets and stars but it also has the option to give you schema for FAQ’s.

That is one schema structure that not all SEOs are using, so this would be a great time to utilize it.

And if you don’t know why FAQs are great, well, let’s just say that you can rank for many different keywords if you get featured with the FAQ snippets.

So, Which of the Best Schema Plugins is For You?

Of course, only you can decide.

What features do you actually want/need?

Do you want schema to be all in the backend or do you want some cool looking frontend features as well?

What’s your budget?

There are many factors that will determine what you actually want or need so just pick the one that works best for you.

Like I said though, I think you’ll like WP Review Pro the most as it gives you most control as well as way more options than the rest.

Schema Pro also works great but the whole category issue might not be cool but then again, if reviews are all you are going to use schema for, then this is actually perfect for you.

The other schema plugins are also great, so don’t count them out either.

I do hope this short but sweet list of the best schema plugins for WordPress has been more than enough for you to choose from.

There are others, but I can promise you that these are really the best.

Thanks for reading and happy blogging!
